No wonder why bottled water is the most lucrative and fastest growing beverage business in America! U.S. residents now drink more bottled water than coffee, tea, and sodas. It has recorded US$9.8 billion sales in 2007 and has projected almost 50% growth in the last five years.

Globalization has turned the world into its unnatural state. The desire for modernization that caused abusive use and destruction of natural resources through deforestation, mismanagement of waste disposal , the use of explosives and destructive chemicals among others have created a situation on what seems to be the revenge of nature. The exact scenes--- air and water pollution,  food crises, and the proliferation of what seemed to be incurable diseases. A statistic published by New England Journal of Medicine shows that cancer is the #2 cause of death in the U.S. and Americans have a less than 20% chance of dying of natural causes.

Today the water that comes out of our faucets filling up our glass and quenching our thirsts contains elements that are dangerous to our body. According to the American Consumer Reports, more than 700 organic chemicals have been identified in drinking water, and some of them are suspected cancer-causing agents.
There are over 35,000 registered pesticides alone containing 600 chemical compounds suspected to penetrate the water systems worldwide, of which many are known to cause birth defects, nerve damage, sterility, and cancer.

Chlorine, which is widely used to eliminate most of the harmful organisms, was found out to generate toxic chemicals that were not originally present from the source. It exacerbates the toxic problem in the water. Chloroform, the most common of the four compounds called trihalomethanes that are formed when natural organic matter in water reacts with chlorine causes cancer and poses dangers to the liver, thyroid, and immune system.
